Really enjoyed her perspective of doing things right all along and focusing on higher quality, sustainable pieces that work together for an efficient wardrobe. And especially the focus on collaboration and consensus for an egoless corporate structure. I’m sure it makes hiring and HR management a nightmare, but with a successful company continuing to grow since the 80’s, Eileen Fisher is obviously on to something. Aspiring leaders, take note! Classic Spring Top
This classic 3/4 sleeve French Sailor shirt from L.L. Bean has been my go-to for YEARS. I’ve had the exact same one since my freshman or sophomore year of college, which means this top has lasted a solid 7-8 years and is still going strong! I have paired it with jeans and sneakers, skirts and heels, and have worn it to several job interviews with black pixie pants and a blazer. Tons of stores have striped tees, but the knit of this top is a heftier weight so it sits really nicely on and just looks and feels nicer than your average tee without being a full-blown sweater. I’m partial to the Cream/Navy as seen here, but also love the Navy/Cream which would look great with white jeans. Grab one before Tuesday (05/29/18) while it is 20% off during L.L. Bean’s Memorial day sale with code SUMMER20. I’m wearing a size small in the photo, but would order an extra-small if I got another one. I think the sizes have just changed a little since mine was purchased.
Have you seen this video series?

I was a little surprised that this video popped up as a recommendation on YouTube, but I have to admit the bit in the title about “Getting Out of Her Own Way” had me hooked. I’ve never seen an episode of Girls, so really this video is the only context I have on Jemima Kirke as an actress/celebrity/artist. But that made no difference in the power of her message throughout the video. I highly recommend scrolling through and checking out plenty of the other videos in the series by StyleLikeU, every single one is an incredible glimpse into the lives and struggles and triumphs of women from all kinds of backgrounds. I was struck by how eloquent each of the women interviewed are, and found myself clicking through and watching for hours. Next time you’re sitting down for a scroll through Instagram or a Netflix binge, do yourself a favor and check this series out instead.
